Town Of Carefree Celebrates Milestone

The Town of Carefree celebrated its colorful Arizona history on October 3 with the commemoration of 25 years of incorporation. A full day of festivities took place throughout the community, and included participation by Foothills Food Bank, Sky Ranch at Carefree Airport, Carefree Market Place and Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center, among many other organizations and businesses.
“Carefree is celebrating 25 years of incorporation, but we are also commemorating 50 years of history,” said organizer and resident Jo Gemmill, owner of the English Rose Tea Room. “Although we incorporated in 1984, the very first home among the boulders here was built in 1959.”
