Historic art center opens Summer Gallery


August is a great time to visit the many galleries and shops of historic Tubac, just 35 minutes south of Tucson on I-19, Exit 34, in the scenic and cooler Santa Cruz Valley.
For the first time, the historic Tubac Center of the Arts will be open during August with Summer Gallery, showcasing works by 19 acclaimed painters, sculptors and jewelry artists. The free exhibition offers the public an opportunity to view beautiful and exciting art and a chance to purchase those works at affordable prices, with 40 percent of the proceeds going to the non-profit Center to support its many free exhibitions and programs.
The exhibiting artists will all display multiple pieces, allowing visitors to see the range and depth of each artist’s work. Participating artists, from the Santa Cruz Valley, Tucson and Santa Fe, include: Barbara Amyx, Mickey Bond, JoAnn Daly, Sylvia Herrera, Mike Hoeck, DeDe Isaacson, Bonnie Jaus, Michael Jayme, Anne Leonard, Carol Ann Miraben, Rebecca O’Day, Jim Potts, Sherman Rouse, David Simons, Mike Taylor, Scarlett Taylor, Deanna Thibault, David Voisard and Zieg Warner.
